Marmara University Rectorate banned the screening of movie, “Journey Towards the Sun” by Yeşim Ustaoğlu. The movie, dated 1999, was planned to be screened within the event, “Female Directors” organized by the Cinema Club and the university administration did not find the screening appropriate. The movie depicts the transformation and friendships of two young people; one Turkish and one Kurdish.
